Introducing the 13th Signs of Zodiac and Its Effect

Article by Jackson Swift

Despite of opposition of many people, the commonly 12 zodiac signs has been added one under the name of Ophiuchus which also known as ?the serpent holder?. This new added zodiac sign to horoscopes has forayed into the world of astrology during the last few weeks. Thousands of people are left wondering what personality traits the 13th zodiac sign entails. An Ophiuchus, just like any other star signs in horoscopes are in line with your existing personality traits. This sign is portrayed by a man grasping the snake that is represented by the constellation Serpens. It is one of the 48 constellations proposed by Ptolemy in the second century.

People born under this 13th sign are mostly a seeker of wisdom and knowledge. Oppiuchan are envied by many people as they progress well throughout life. They also have a flamboyant dressing sense and in favor of bright colours. They are mostly authoritative and dignified. Some are honest, intellectual, sexually magnetic, prone to change and of course, jealous. In terms of profession or career, Ophiuchans would make a great architect or a builder. They will be expected to have a big family but will leave home at an early age. They require special attention to understand and argue the new Zodiac sign believers.

Ophiuchus, the 13th sign of the zodiac is actually associated with a real person under the name of ?Imhotep? unlike the other 12 known zodiac signs. Imhotep who existed during the 27th Century BCE in Ancient Egypt was also known as ‘Aesclepius’ by the Ancient Greeks. Its attributes are just the same under either name. Ophiuchus is not included in most versions of the zodiac and is rarely used as astrological sign. Its eponymous constellation is situated behind the sun between November 29 and December 17 while Sagittarius will move into the 13 th position covering from Dec. 17 to Jan. 20.

As stated by astrologers, Ophiuchus and some of the fixed stars in it were sometimes used in antiquity as extra-zodiacal indicators. Often known as Anonymous of 379, an anonymous 4th century astrologer seems to have associated the “the bright star of Ophiuchus”, likely ? Ophiuchi, with doctors, healers or physicians.

The 13 Signs of Zodiac have considered the Sun to be in the “sign of Ophiuchus? based on the 1930 IAU constellation boundaries. Some of the Western astrologers and most sidereal astrologers do not recognize Ophiuchus as a sign of zodiac. Its introduction between Scorpio and Sagittarius has upset many people who take astrology seriously.

It is feared by those who are astrology-conscious that the insertion of the 13 number in astrology may bring in the doomsday predictions of 2012 nearer to belief. While others are upset because of their zodiac sign has suddenly changed since they are not ready to switch over new charts or accept new predictions or simply because they want their old zodiac attributes or characteristics. Others don?t take it as an astrology issue as it has to do with stars ? it is not a sign but it is a constellation.
